What are girls saying?

A lot of girls my age hate their bodies. Its easy to feel bad when everyone is constantly posting bikini pics on Instagram. Part of my plan is to learn to love my body. My older sister told me that everyone has an awkward stage and its no reason to hate myself. Plus guys like girls that have confidence!

Preparing for college takes a ton of planning. Buying new clothes and furniture for my dorm is so exciting, but buying new notebooks and a backpack for class can be just as fun. Work hard play hard is a good motto, I can’t forget that the real reason I’m in college is to get a degree!

My boyfriend constantly asks me to have sex even though I keep telling him I’m not sure if I want to yet. We’ve only been dating for a few weeks and I want to make sure that he’s not just using me. I don’t plan on doing it until I’m absolutely sure that I’m comfortable with it. I refuse to be another heartbroken girl who wishes she had waited.

Being single for a few years is definitely part of my plan. Going out with all of my single friends is so much more fun. People my age who are obsessed with getting a boyfriend are kind of missing out. Plus I’ve seen girls lose their friends because they want to be with their boyfriend 24/7.

I want to be in amazing shape when I start high school this fall. My friends and I are planning on working out together and trying to eat healthier over the summer. I’ve planned on getting into better shape before, but I think doing it with my friends will be so much easier. I’ll be more likely to stay motivated when I know I have someone to go to the gym with.

A lot of my close friends started drinking and I feel awkward when they talk about it. I’m nervous that they won’t want to hang out with me anymore if I don’t drink. I know I can have fun without drinking so I don’t plan on doing it. If they stop inviting me to hang out I’ll have to make plans with my friends that don’t drink. The most important part of my plan is never getting into a car with someone who’s been drinking.

I started thinking about having sex with my long-term boyfriend months ago, and was freaking out about asking my mom for birth control. I didn’t want her to know I was planning on having sex. My friend told me that she asked her doctor for birth control and it was completely confidential – her parents didn’t have to know. I plan on being safe my first time and every time I have sex because being a teen mom is not part of my plan.

I’ve known I wanted to go to college since I was little. I asked my parents if we could meet weekly to talk about my options and plan out visits. Since I’m only a junior I’ll be able to research and visit a variety of colleges instead of making a rushed decision right before the deadline next year.

My plan is to try to pay better attention in class and stay focused on school. Dropping out isn’t an option for me. I know kids that don’t get a high school diploma tend to have much lower salaries and end up being less successful. I want to be able to support myself and my future family with enough left over for things that I really want, like a nice car.

I’m planning on trying out for the high school football team next year. Spots on the team are really competitive so I have to make sure I’m in the best shape possible. I’m going to start by making a workout plan and stop eating fast food.

I started my college search this year with help from my parents and guidance counselor. I did a ton of research in my spare time on the schools I liked and the grades I needed to get into them. I really wish I had done this sooner so that I could’ve had time to improve my GPA, but this didn’t stop me from applying to multiple schools. Going to college is 100% part of my plan.

I’m planning on getting a job this summer so that I can start making my own money. I know that I need to be financially independent some day and figure I might as well start now. With my own savings I can prove to my parents that I’m serious about going to college, and they’ll feel better about helping me out.

I plan on using condoms every time I have sex. No one thinks that they’re going to get an STI or get a girl pregnant if they don’t use a condom “this one time,” but it only takes one time… I’d rather not have to worry about it.

A lot of my friends have started lifting at the gym in my town. I’m planning on making the gym part of my routine. I need to start working out more and they’re going to make me look bad if I don’t!

My plan is simple. I’m not going to get into drugs. One second you’re trying them, the next second you’re addicted. I’ve seen too many people in my life destroyed by drugs, both friends and family.
